As a Global Commercial Director you will have an overall global commercial responsibility, including sales, sales growth, margin and profitability, of a Professionals and Distributors Target Customer Group (TCG). You will ensure a collaborative, fair environment for countries and group functions to develop business together, define strategic goals and coordinate growth directions for both existing as well as new business. As part of the Global Commercial Team you will share overall end-responsibility for total group sales and its growth targets and customer profitability.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:
- Overall commercial responsibility, including sales, margin and profitability, of led business area and new/high growth countries
- Responsible for the global financial performance of the TCG
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global key accounts, distributors, and partners to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Drive the global new business development in collaboration with the Sales Managers and their teams
- Manage the global key accounts in terms of pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and forecasting to maximize profitability and market share
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in all commercial activities
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, identify new business opportunities and market segments
- Define/approve the core product portfolio including target/ minimum, pricing and quality levels with product management
- Set direction for product adjustments and development with R&D
Global resource allocation - Responsible for TCG specific (commercial and technical) competence development activities (e.g. trainings etc.)
- Ensure global contracting is in place as per our guidelines and governance
- Define new services relevant to the customer experience
- Responsible for tinting contract management
- Lead or participate in taskforces, with focus on business prioritization and handling of customer complaints
- Responsible for distribution channel selection and creating relevant support services
- Collaborate with after care of industrial customers products, maintaining long-term business relationships and ensuring optimal performance of the products supplied
- Responsible for employee satisfaction within led team, ensuring good working climate and motivation among employees
- Close cooperation with Group Marketing to define the marketing strategy, enhance customer brand awareness and monitor customer satisfaction
- In collaboration with the Product Management, approving the product portfolio lifecycle, target, pricing and quality levels and setting direction for new product introductions
- Defining new services to support our coating solutions
- Providing strategic prioritization for R&D projects, controlling and following up the development progress
- Acting as a part of the relevant strategic and tactical project / product steering groups
- Representing Teknos in industry events (seminars, interviews, speaker forums etc.)
Key skills and qualifications:
- Commercially minded seasoned leader with several years of international sales experience, with strong customer/market orientation and strategic thinking capacity
- Understanding of consumer products' distribution channels and cooperation with professional partners within European business is a must
- Proven people management skills and experience – team builder and player, able to lead and motivate a global team both directly and in a matrix
- Strong strategic thinking and competence in conceptualizing solutions, combined with entrepreneurial approach
- Numerate, analytical mindset with high attention to details
- Work effectively under pressure and in a dynamic, changing environment
- Excellence in planning and execution, ability to prioritize
- With this international position readiness to travel is a must
- You communicate fluently in English, other European languages are welcome
